Sciences Po Refugee Help is a student and 1901 law association working to uphold the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in France through short and long-term aid and integration. We divide our work into various different teams including legal aid, maraudes, French lessons and many more!
Born in September 2015, at the heavily mediatised peak of the European refugee crisis, our goal was first and foremost to bring emergency humanitarian aid to street camps and housing centres in the Île de France region. Since then, the association has expanded its focus to working towards longer-term initiatives, regarding the integration of asylum seekers and refugees.
Today, the association is structured around 4 pillars, although this particular organisation remains flexible in light of the ever-changing nature of those issues observed on the ground. First, material assistance is provided (clothing, food, immediate shelter) along with legal aid (asylum request registration, medical accompaniments) to all newcomers. In the weeks following their arrival, the association also organises social activities (museum visits, athletic activities) and French lessons to facilitate the integration of each individual during their time in France.
