Our structure

The role of the Administration Team is to act as a coordinating body between all  branches of Sciences Po Refugee Help. The Administration Team also  handles financing and fundraising efforts, and generates Activity Reports  to reflect the association's overall work and impact.  Our work is also reflected through various communication material, networking efforts with institutions or press contacts. Finally, the Administration Team is also an incubator for new initiatives, such as the Sciences Po Refugee Help Think Tank, Buddy Program or  Awareness-Raising in Schools program.

Finance

Running an association like Sciences Po Refugee Helps means a lot of financial tracking and reporting. Thankfully,  our fantastic Finance Team liaises with all volunteers making purchases, asking them to fill out reimbursement sheets, using mobile apps to immediately scan and send receipts, detailing items procured, applying discounts, and consolidating all of this information in a live Budget. This budget will be publicly shared, at the end of each spending period, to complement our narrative reporting efforts (like our Newsletter or Activity Reports) and guarantee associative transparency to donors, partners and members. The Finance team is also responsible for  researching and applying to various grants, allowing us to finance our activities in the short and long term.

Fundraising

Although grant applications are a great source of funding, most of Sciences Po Refugee Help's finances come from donations made by individuals like you! These donations either come through our crowdfunding campaign, or fundraising events like our concert series. Each semeseter, Sciences Po Refugee Help has organised a Beats Across Borders concert, bringing together asylum seekers and Parisians at l'Alimentation Générale for a night a beats, boogeing, babbling and bridging.

Media

Sciences Po Refugee Help's work on the ground has allowed it to glean a holistic and in depth understanding of key issues and legal loopholes or violations. As we continue to network with other ground actors and institutions, we also seek to document our experiences and lay the groundwork for wider advocacy campaigns based on our observations.  We also want to document the association's work in order to be accountable to donors, partners and members. This is where the media team comes in: our role is to generate communication material (photos, videos, infrographs, posts) reflecting Sciences Po Refugee Help's activities, and exchange with press contacts for exposés,   portraits, interviews, documentaries and more.  Interested? Impact assessment

As Sciences Po Refugee Help expands and transforms, it is important to take a moment and reflect on our inner workings and evolving identity. This will be the aim of our team, who will be assigned one question each year to reflect on, and insert that year's experiences into. The Think Tank is but one of the many other platforms through which Sciences Po Refugee Help seeks unity with its members, even as the association grows ever more numerous and horizontal (for instance, our volunteers also have acess to a private blog, imitating the MSF model, in which they can share their frustrations and grievances). The Think Tank will publish its conclusions each year through a report whose format has yet to be determined.
