The Material Needs team focuses on meeting the most immediate and essential needs of asylum seekers and refugees arriving in Paris. Every week, volunteers purchase food supplies, prepare sandwiches and food baskets, and organise regular distribution sessions to support people living in precarious conditions.

These actions not only provide practical assistance but also offer moments of  connection: a chance to listen, share, and bring a sense of dignity and care to those who often face isolation.

The team operates in close collaboration with the Centre Saint Guillaume (CSG), the Catholic Centre of Sciences Po, which generously provides access to its facilities for storage, cooking, and preparation. 

Through these weekly efforts, the Material Needs team embodies SPRH’s founding spirit: acting together, with compassion and consistency, to make everyday life a little easier for people on the move.
