Considering the current health crisis and measures taken by the French government, especially the closing of universities, the executive board of Sciences Po Refugee Help decided, in agreement with coordinators of the concerned teams, in order to assure the security of our volunteers and of refugees and asylum seekers, themselves often already in difficult health situation:

  • to suspend all activities of all teams in direct contact with refugees and asylum seekers: Material Needs, French Lessons, Women, Social Activities and Asylum Seeker ;

  • to postpone all events for students, especially our Screening-debate and the Beats across Borders#10

If this decision has been difficult to take, we prefer not to take any risk for the health of our volunteers and of people we help. Other organizations are more prepared than ours for this crisis. Finally, we ask again the State to take in charge, in a more human manner than ever, refugees and asylum seekers, especially those concerned by Covid-19.

Sciences Po Refugee Help will organize itself to help - again - people we take care of, maybe in a more indirect manner.

For a material, social and juridical integration of refugees

Sciences Po Refugee help is an association composed by students willing to make a difference in refugees integration. Our work is focused on emergency material needs in the streets and  legal assistance of asylum seekers.  Our actions are long-term oriented  through a  cultural and linguistic learning of french and social activities in housing centers.

The  organization is non partisan and  has a  constructive attitude : our advocacy and communication campaigns are based on facts, french and international laws. Our goal is to  rethink  the current asylum seekers integration  in France and influence public policies regarding  refugees.

Because every Human has the right to reclaim their human dignity, and as the arrival in a new country in extremely precarious conditions require an access to first necessity products, we are raising funds to furnish Welcome Pack to refugees and asylum seekers in Paris. Blankets, asylum seeker’s guide, sim cards or sleeping bags enable our volunteers to provide an emergency aid to the newcomers in Paris.
