MATERIAL NEEDS

COOKING SESSIONS | MARAUDES

ABOUT US

The Material Needs Team gathers twice a week for maraudes (food distributions) in Paris handing out supplies including hot foods, drinks and clothes. Cooking sessions are organized previous to the maraudes to prepare the warm food that is going to be served.

The aim of the team is to provide practical aid in the form of necessities for the Asylum Seekers in need in Paris.

OUR MISSION

We strive to bring a bit of light into the lives of the Asylum Seekers in our communities in the most practical ways. A coat and a warm drink may not feel like much, but we believe a lot of small positive actions accumulate, and we are happy to be part of the aid effort on the Parisian streets.

How can you help?

If you have any warm clothes that you would like to donate to the maraude team to distribute, don't hesitate to get in contact via our social media or email!

Additionally, we organize different food collections during the academic year to prepare warm food for the maraudes.

MEET THE CORDINATORS

Matteo Gabutti

Ciao! I’m Matteo, M2 in International Governance & Diplomacy. Last year I was lucky enough to become an SPRH volunteer, and now, as a coordinator, I’m keen on radiating the same climate of humanity and solidarity I was welcomed with. Come on board with us!

Amir Bonyadi

Hey, I'm Amir. I'm an M1 student in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action. Having volunteered in Calais at a refugee community kitchen and participated in weekly food distributions in Paris for individuals facing food insecurity, I am excited to expand on my experience and contribute to the Material Needs team of SPRH as a coordinator.

Rose Feltgen

I'm Rose, a passionate master's student in human rights and humanitarian action. My experience with unaccompanied minors during my first year of bachelor ignited in me a strong interest in migration issues. When I heard of Sciences Refugee Help in Paris, I immediately wished to be part of this beautiful movement of solidarity.

Gabriel Karerangabo

Hi there, I'm Gabriel Karerangabo from Burundi, and I'm currently a M1 in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action. My passion for helping refugees and people dealing with migratory issues has been ignited by my commitment to humanitarian work. I am deeply committed to protecting displaced persons, ensuring their safety, dignity, and access to impartial assistance. I have continuously worked to find both short-term and long-term solutions for displaced populations through my work with refugees at the Mahama Refugee Camp in Rwanda. I'm thrilled to be a part of the SPRH team as Coordinator for the Material Needs !

Astrid Bochnakian

Hi, I’m Astrid! As an M1 student in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action, I am passionate about migration and accountability issues. I’ve volunteered with SPRH since my undergrad, which has allowed me to work with different teams and gain a deeper understanding of a wide variety of migration-related issues. I am thrilled to be part of the SPRH team and work with volunteers to provide concrete help!

Lola Ponchon

Hey! I’m Lola and I’m an M1 in European Affairs. I'm one of the coordinators of the material needs team, where we organize maraudes each week. Looking forward to working with you all!

Teresa Patané

Hey! I'm, Teresa, a master’s student in “European affairs - Europe in the world”. As an Italian, I have developed a keen interest in migration and asylum. I have worked at the Italian immigration office, and I have volunteered in refugee camps in Greece and at the border between Italy and Slovenia. I am so happy to join SPRH as a Material needs coordinator, hoping to help more people in the move.
